It's a cool night, but a pleasant one. Not too windy, not too damp, and the constant cloud cover above is hidden by the darkness. Or at least made to seem a little less oppressive by only being lit by the various shades of neon present in the signs that gives the district its name. And, what better than a cool night for a bowl of hot noodle soup? This seems to be Winter's thinking, anyway. They're seated at the bar and waiting on their order, staring into the distance in a way that suggests they're reading something on their ONI. They've got on a loose lavender sweater, a pair of black leggings and black ballet flats, one foot swinging idly as they wait.

The tech walks in wearing dark blue skinny jeans and an over sized hoodie with FCUK in black on the front. He sees the chef behind the counter and bows his head. "Same order, sensai." The man nods his head and he turns to see Winter sitting there. He walks over and tilts his head. There is very little to his expression, nothing behind the eyes. "Doc, rare to see you out. Enjoying …noodles." The last word stretched out. He takes a seat beside Winter and leans against the bar.

"I'd say I'm a somewhat regular customer," Winter replies, "the soup is good and the place is around the corner from my office. Perhaps we just eat here at different times." They consider Kagami with a faint cant of their head. "How are things?"

* * *

He hums quietly. "I usually pick up a daily order when they open around eleven in the morning." He grumbles and nods his head as he's given a water without asking. "Been seeing that drug pusher you sent me too." He takes a deep breath. "Did a blood test, brain scan, and now I'm on meds. I have to say I don't really care about anything anymore. Just been gaming a lot. Even the case, I couldn't care less." He takes a sip of his water.

* * *

"And I usually come here for a late dinner," Winter replies. Their brows lift a little for 'drug pusher' but they just have a swallow of their own water. "It can take a little while for levels to normalize as I understand it. There may still be some time, medication or dosage adjustment needed before it's a fully effective approach."

* * *

Kagami shakes his head. "No. I'm good this way." He touches his heart. "Doesn't hurt anymore. Little things people do to hurt me and big ones.. roll off. My parents not accepting me doesn't matter. I accepted me. Royal rejecting me and probably off banging the first spread legs he can, doesn't bother me because I don't need him anymore. Galen rejecting me, doesn't matter. I will use him like everyone else uses me, for information or skills. I have the love of myself." He points out as he drinks back some water.

* * *

Winter has another swallow of water, moving the cup aside as a bowl of steaming noodle soup is set down. "I see," they reply lightly, with a glance back over at Kagami. "So, in your estimation, things are… better?"

* * *

Kag nods his head and sips his water. "They are." He finishes his water and upnods the man who refills his ice water. "Extremely better. Once my noodles are here, I'm going to go back to my apartment, feed Luci and play another game. I finished three already."

* * *

"Taking some time off, then?" Winter asks, giving their bowl a stir and then a little time to cool.

* * *

Kag lifts a brow. "Time off? Royal sent me on a goose chance. Told me the name of some detective who apparently is never there and said she'd be my point man. Great point man, she doesn't exist." He sips more water. "I got the hint loud and clear. Fuck off." He sees the giant bag full with his take out. "If the dude had the balls he'd just tell me to fuck off but he had to send me on a chase and waste my time. He's a mother fucker and I grow to hate him more and more." He says all of this calmly with a dead eyed expression. "So I…" He pays for his noodles and takes the bag, finishing off his water. "Am off the case and playing me some games."

* * *

"…what detective would that be?" Winter asks, brows furrowing. "We've agreed not to discuss Royal, since we both know him, but as this isn't a session, I have to admit that sending anyone on a wild goose chase doesn't really sound like something he'd intentionally do."

* * *

Kag lifts his brow. "I have long forgotten the fake name." He chuckles a little and shakes his head. "Oh man, he's got to you." He finger guns her. "Have fun with him showing you the best parts of himself only to switch gears like a serial killer and show his cruel side. Trust me as someone whose seen it." He walks towards the door with a small grin on his lip. "Remember Doc, he only gives a shit about himself. Sending someone on a goose chase sounds -exactly- like something he would do."

* * *

"So, a detective whose name you don't remember, but who you are sure doesn't exist even though you don't know who they are, is meant to be proof of duplicity?" Winter asks. "Why don't we change the subject, I don't really want to get into a circular argument over Royal. Galen was training you, wasn't he? In self defense? What happened there, you don't seem to think much of him, either."

* * *

Kag turns at the door. "Oh I remember her name and she does exist but she's avoiding contact. Probably on his request." He points out. "I am just done having people squeeze me for information, Doc." He taps his temple. "Circular argument going right back around to Royal being selfish and two-faced. That about sums it up." He shakes his head. "I do hate Galen but that doesn't mean I can't take self-defense from him." He grumbles. "I'm out. Enjoy your noodles."
